
This photo was a tabletop project. Also this was the first real tethered shoot I did. For this I used the Macbook Pro, the Canon software that came with the Camera, my Canon EOS 7D, the EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro, my tripod and a small softbox kit with 2 halogen spots. Also I used a elevated plexiglas as my working space.
First I set up my laptop, connected a USB cable between the Macbook Pro and the camera. Switch on the camera and the Canon software started automatically. Next I placed my camera on the tripod and switched the lens to manual focus.
After that I placed the plexiglass on on few drinking glasses to elevate it. On top of the plexiglas I placed the softbox, and on the left and right side placed a small halogen spot.
In the above photo you can see the setup; this was a test shot with the EF 24-105mm f/4 still attached, after the test shoot I decided to use the 100mm Macro to get a tighter crop.
After that I controlled the complete shoot from the laptop, here you can see this setup:
